$900,000 SETTLEMENT FOR WOMAN HIT BY CAR IN TANNING SALON

The Law Offices of Richard L. Pullano obtained $900,000 in an out-of-court settlement for the victim of a bizarre accident at Palm Beach Tan in Wilmette, Illinois in October 2009.

The 23-year-old woman was visiting the tanning salon when a vehicle crashed through the front window of the store. Obviously unaware that she was in harm’s way, the victim had no chance to protect herself or avoid the crash. As a result, her lower leg was badly broken and required a number of emergency surgeries.

The woman continues to suffer from knee pain and has a limited range of motion with the affected leg. Her doctor stated that the extensive scarring on her leg, and the painful symptoms she continues to face, will be permanent.

The Chicago Tribune interviewed James Dominik, Wilmette Fire Chief, who highlighted the fact that this was no small accident:

“The impact was pretty great,” Dominik said, adding that the car blasted through a partial wall of cinder blocks. “The car is halfway into the building.”

The Law Offices of Richard L. Pullano sought justice from the driver, who was not cited for causing the accident and injuries. Pullano lawyers rejected the original settlement of $460,000 ultimately securing $900,000.
