$4.5 MILLION FOR A WOMAN WHOSE DOCTORS FAILED TO DIAGNOSE LUNG CANCER

Attorneys from the Law Offices of Richard L. Pullano secured a $4.5 million jury verdict in a medical malpractice case for a 30-year-old woman whose doctors failed to diagnose early-stage lung cancer that consequently spread to her lymph nodes.

The plaintiff was a 30-year-old woman with asthma that was being treated at Palos Community Hospital because she was having difficulty breathing. Chest x-rays showed an abnormality in her lung which was improperly diagnosed as pneumonia. A two year delay in the diagnoses resulted in the lung cancer spreading to her lymph nodes. The plaintiff underwent a lung resection, chemotherapy, and radiation as a result of the untimely diagnoses.
